Picture That! Picturebooks, Comics and Graphic Novels in the EFL Classroom – Research & Teaching Implications
Picturebooks, comics and graphic novels provide an excellent springboard for spawning children's and teenagers' interest in reading. In this book, theoretical contributions, research reports on literature projects and teaching ideas shed light on how books, in which text and image are intertwined, may be used for teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Moreover, sample book selections, information on children's book prizes and an annotated bibliography will support teachers in discovering a broad range of pieces of children's literature that may be introduced in EFL lessons at the secondary level.
