The University College of Teacher Education Styria is a UNESCO University College. On the occasion of its 10th anniversary it was accepted to the Associated School Network of UNESCO. We are pleased that our engagement in the fields of inclusion and diversity, Human Rights and Global Citizenship Education as well as Environment Protection Education in Initial Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development in Austria is gaining international recognition.

Peace, Secureness and Democracy

The University College of Teacher Education Styria goes along with the UNESCO-aims, to enhance peace and secureness as well as observing human rights by collaborating worldwide. UNESCO-educational institutions are models for a special pedagogical attitude. In UNESCO-educational institutions topics such as world inheritance, sustainable development, democracy and education for peace, human rights and gender equality, biodiversity and climate change, tolerance and interculturality are being taught. Learning is being seen as an activity-oriented process and diversity as an essential field of education.
